The Breeze in the Trees is the second event in our Orchard Series, which aims to connect the community with the natural beauty that forms part of their landscape while raising funds for deserving organizations in the Santa Cruz Valley. This year’s run will support the Future Farmers of America (FFA) of Rio Rico High School and the 4H Club of Sahuarita, two organizations dedicated to fostering agricultural education and leadership among our youth.

“As pecan growers, we understand the importance of nurturing agricultural education and leadership at every level,” said Paula Beemer, event coordinator.  “By backing both the Rio Rico High School FFA and the Sahuarita 4H through our upcoming 5K run, we ensure a comprehensive approach to cultivating the next generation of agricultural stewards. These organizations provide invaluable opportunities for young individuals to develop essential skills, foster a love for agriculture, and become leaders in their communities. Through our collective support, we empower these aspiring farmers and leaders to make a meaningful impact in the pecan industry and beyond, securing a prosperous future for agriculture.”

Participants will also enjoy a traditional pancake breakfast prepared by the Green Valley Firefighters Association, featuring delicious pecans from our very own orchards. It’s the perfect way to refuel and celebrate after the run.
